Left Longreach by 7 this morning to be able to park the van and drive out to see the Dinosaur footprints at Winton. The trouble was that the Pub over the road from the caravan park was where you booked and we arrived too early for the pub to open but eventually got parked and drove the 110ks out to Lark Quarry Dinosaur Stampede, where they’ve uncovered a large number of Dinosaur footprints and built over the top of them to protect them and run tours. Quite interesting especially for those with a Dinosaur fetish, I guess, but such a long drive on a dirt road. That’s another thing ticked off the bucket list and if we hadn’t done it we’d have always wondered!
Footprints not showing very well in the photos - rough outline of the large footprintsTop left is where the original footprint was found but too deep to continue digging, so they moved across from there to the position of the above site
